"The Dr. Haider Abdul Shafi Center for Culture and Development organizes a dialogue workshop titled 'Party Education and Citizenship Values.' The center organized a workshop on 'Party Education and Citizenship Values' with the attendance of a large crowd of intellectuals and youth. The meeting began with a presentation by Mr. Talal Abu Rokba, who moderated the workshop, highlighting that this workshop is part of the release of the seventh issue of the Citizenship Magazine, which addresses the relationship between political parties and citizenship by hosting Mr. Rami Murad, who discussed the topic in an article published in the latest issue of the magazine. On the other hand, Mohsen Abu Ramadan, the center's director, spoke about the historical origin of political parties as one of the most sophisticated forms of social organization. He emphasized the importance of linking party education to the values of equal citizenship among people and transforming pluralism into a rich source of diversity, away from narrow sectarian culture. He also stressed the importance of integrating citizenship with the path of national unity to end the division and arrange the Palestinian internal affairs on democratic and participatory bases. Additionally, Rami Murad delivered a speech addressing the historical origin of parties in Palestinian society and the necessity of linking citizenship with the goals of the Palestinian people for national liberation. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that party education is based on safeguarding the public interest and collective action for societal development. Furthermore, participants presented various interventions emphasizing the importance of avoiding sectarianism and narrow interests, linking party education with national unity, respecting human rights principles, fostering a culture of citizenship, and enhancing the participation of women and youth in public life and Palestinian representative institutions. This meeting comes in the context of issuing the sixth edition of the Citizenship quarterly magazine, funded by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom."
